Oslo with DFDS Seaways

Itinerary for: Scandinavia On Sale - Oslo with Mini Cruise

Day 1 Thursday.
Departure from USA home city via Chicago, New York, Seattle or Washington DC 
on SAS to Copenhagen, arriving the next day.

Day 2 Friday.
After arrival at Copenhagen, transfer to the Oslo
flight departing approximately one hour later, arriving into
Fornebu mid morning. Take a bus or a taxi on your own to the
Comfort Boersparken Hotel. You can take the SAS bus into the
city then a taxi to the hotel.
You may wish to enjoy a stroll down Oslo's main walking street
Carl Johan. Perhaps an afternoon tour of the harbor front,
and a dinner on your own at one of Oslo's many great restaurants.

Day 3 Saturday
After breakfast you may wish to go shopping for Norwegian
sweaters, the latest in Scandinavian fashion or simply go window
shopping on Carl Johan.

Day 4 Sunday
After Breakfast you may wish to take a tour of the Frogner Park,
see the Holmenkollen Ski jump and Museum, The Thor
Heyerdahl's "RA" Museum and the Viking Ship Museum nearby.
There are many wonderful experiences in Oslo.
A quiet dinner is recommended perhaps at Holmenkollen or in the
city at the waterfront.

Day 5 Monday
After breakfast you may wish to go more shopping for Norwegian
Pewter or other Norwegian specialties or simply sightsee.
Early afternoon you should prepare to leave the hotel for the pier,
where you will board the DFDS Seaways ship late afternoon, for
an early evening departure for Copenhagen. You will spend 2 nights
on board ship. There are a good variety of choices for dining on
board. You can go cafeteria style or dine in one of the restaurants.

Day 6 Tuesday
Before breakfast or during, you will witness a beautiful sailing into
the Oresund Strait, after making an early morning call at
Helsingborg, Sweden. After 9:00am arrival, clearing formalities
you may wish to take a 3 hour city, on you own , based on seat in
coach guided tour, of Copenhagen, walk to see the little Mermaid,
walk up to Nyhavn and Kongens Nytorv continuing the walk into
the famous walking street "Stroeget" all the way to The Royal
Copenhagen shop. You may pass by Illums and Magasin Du Nord
department stores which also are very tempting.
Early afternoon be prepared to re-board the ship and depart Oslo
at 5:00pm. Enjoy the sailing out of the Sound with a quiet
dinner on board ship.

Day 7 Wednesday
Before and after breakfast enjoy a smooth sailing into the
wonderful Oslo Fjord. After disembarkation you should go to the
Comfort Boersparken Hotel with your luggage, after which you
may wish to take a last tour of Oslo, or even a train ride to
Lillehammer, the site of the 1994 Winter Olympics.
A quiet dinner is recommended perhaps at Holmenkollen or in the
city at the waterfront.

Day 6 Thursday
After an early breakfast you will depart Oslo at approximately
8:30am. You will connect directly to your Chicago flights which
departs at 10:40am. You need to check-in 1 1/2 hr prior to
departure. If you get to the airport by 9:40am.
You will have just enough time to do some last minute duty free
shopping, Copenhagen Airport shopping center being one of the
best in Europe.

The program offers you Air transportation, three star hotel, cruise
ticket - inside cabin accommodations, based on two persons
sharing a twin, breakfast daily.

Options:
depart ship in Copenhagen and spend a few days before returning home.
or
3 day 2 night to Bergen, taking train from Oslo to Flom, then a
fjord express ferry to Gudvang, then a bus to Voss and a train
into Bergen. Spend 2 nights at the Comfort Holberg Hotel
with breakfast.
