1,
Meet your tour director
upon check-in at The SAS ticket counter. Depart Chicago
on SAS flight SK942, leaving O'Hare International Airport
at 4:10pm.
Day
2,
Welcome to Copenhagen! Our
bus will meet at the airport and take us on a City Tour
while the hotel is getting ready for our arrival.
Afternoon and evening left open for you to take a nap,
stroll the streets of Copenhagen, and visit the Tivoli
Garden. (B on board aircraft)
Day
3,
After a good night's sleep
we will board our bus and go north, follow the Danish
coast, to the town of Helsingör and the Castle of
Shakespeare's Hamlet. On the way we will stop and visit
the home of Karin Blixen. From Helsingör we take the
ferry across Öresund to Sweden. We will spend the night
in the 900 year old town Helsingborg. (B/D)

4,
On our way to Gothenburg
we will tour the peninsula of Kullen, a most beautiful
part of the north west corner of Skåne. We are in
Gothenburg by late afternoon. We will have dinner
together before you might go for a visit to Liseberg, the
Tivoli garden of Sweden. (B/D)
Day
5,
Gothenburg, the 2nd
largest city of Sweden, the home of Volvo, and other well
known companies. This city is almost 400 years old, with
many buildings remaining from the 17th century. Today you
will be able to tour on your own, visit
"Trädgårdsföreningen" with the House of
Butterflies or take the Canal City Tour,
"Paddan". We will spend a second night in
Göteborg. (B)
Day
6,
Early morning the bus will
take us into the picturesque district of Bohuslän.
Slowly we will find our way, along the coast line, to
Strömstad. We will pass through the islands of Orust and
Tjörn, visit Fiskebäckskil, Kungshamn, Smögen,
Fjällbaka, where Ingrid Bergman lived, and Grebbestad.
We will see the most beautifully located fishing villages
and some fantastic rock formations along this very
special part of Sweden. (B/D)
Day
7,
We are in the hart of the
largest Rock Carving district in Sweden. In 1994 these
rock carvings were awarded a place on the UNESCO's World
Heritage List. This list is composed of the worlds finest
cultural treasures, such as the pyramids of Egypt, the
Taj Mahal, and the Acropolis. We will look at the
unbroken continuum of human development history spanning
over 8000 years. (B/D)
Day
8,
Enjoy your breakfast,
overlooking the Koster fjord. Around 10.00 am we will
board the boat that will take us into the most
spectacular Archipelago around the Koster Islands. These
islands are the most western inhabited islands of Sweden.
The "Koster Train" will take us to a peaceful
place where we can enjoy our shrimp pick-nick. Coffee and
waffles will be served in Hilma Svedahl's most unusual
settlement, "Alaska", on the island of Nord
Långö. (B/L )
Day
9,
Passing over the bridge of
Svinesund into Norway. Visiting the Fortress of Halden
overlooking the Idefjord. Continuing our trip back to
Sweden and the wonderful district of Värmland. We will
pass lush forests and beautiful lakes on our way to
Grythyttans Gästgivaregård. Here we will experience a 4
course dinner in an Inn well known for its culinary art.
Grythyttan is something VERY special, it will introduce
us to the harmony of the 17th century. (B/D )
The tour of June 11 will spend Mid-Summer Eve at
Grythyttan!
Day
10,
After breakfast we will
say good-bye to this unique village, and go to Stockholm,
the capital of Sweden. We will drive directly to the pier
and check-in for the cruise to Helsinki, Finland. You
will board the Viking Line ship for an approximate 6:00pm
departure. This luxurious ship has everything to make
your journey a pleasant one, duty-free shopping, bars,
nightclubs, swimming pools, sauna and more. Enjoy a
delicious Scandinavian Buffet Dinner onboard. Overnight
on ship. (B/D)

11,
After breakfast buffet on
board, disembark and our local guides will meet you for a
tour of Helsinki. We will start the day with a city tour,
before proceeding checking in to our hotel. The Ramada
Presidentii. (B)
Day
12,
After breakfast you may
chose to join our optional tour to Estonia. We will board
a hydrofoil ship (Catamaran Ferry) The short crossing to
Tallinn takes a little more than an hour. There we will
be met by our local guides, taking us for a tour of the
old part of the city. We will enjoy lunch in Tallinn
before returning to Helsinki.You must remember to bring
your passport, camera and only a hand bag is needed. The
cost of this optional tour is $139.00 per person
including city tour and lunch. It is well worth it. No
visa is required for a one day trip. When returning to
Helsinki we will make a direct connection to the Viking
Line for an over night trip back to Stockholm, Sweden.

Day
13,
Breakfast onboard as we
gently weave our way through the beautiful maze of the
Stockholm Archipelago. Arriving in Stockholm at 8.30am.
Take a 3 hour City Tour, visiting the Wasa Museum and
Drottningholm Castle, prior to check-in at our hotel. In
the afternoon we will tour Old Town, The Royal Palace,
City Hall, and other historical areas. B
Day 14,
Another day in Stockholm.
Stockholm is 1998 the Cultural Capital of Europe, and
will offer a number of special events. The whole day on
your own. Stroll, shop, visit Skansen or Millesgården.
In the evening, our last evening together, we will enjoy
a special dinner in this very special city. B/D
Day 15,
After breakfast it's time
to return to the USA. We will board SAS in Stockholm and
return to Chicago via Copenhagen. B
Tour Includes: Air transportation on SAS. First and
moderate first class hotels, all with private facilities
based on two persons sharing a twin bedded room. Our trip
through Denmark and Sweden, transfers and City Tours in
Copenhagen, Helsinki and Stockholm will be in luxury
motor coaches. Meals as indicated;
Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Dinner (D). Ferry Tickets
include inside cabins with private facilities.
Anyone who wishes to extend their trip may do so up to a
maximum of 45 days, without additional airfare, with the
exception if you wish to fly on weekends weekend
surcharges of $30.00 each way will apply.

September departure $2898.00.
If booking early bird and
tickets are issued prior to Mar. 25 there will be an
additional savings of $75.00 per person.
