Scandinavia 5 day 4 night Weekend Cruise to Oslo! From $799.00

Day 1 Friday.
Departure from Chicago on SAS to Copenhagen, arriving the next
morning at 07:30.

Day 2 Saturday.
After arrival at Copenhagen in the morning, take a bus or a taxi
on your own, to the Komfort Hotel, or similar category. Check-in
can begin at noon, subject to room availablity. You may wish to
take a stroll to Town Square only two blocks away.
You may choose to take a 3 hour city sightseeing tour;
A stroll down the famous walking street "Stroeget" is
recommended. You can find many small bars and
restaurants at Nyhavn, (the waterfront of the old part of the city),
and the Little Mermaid is not too far off, if you care to walk from
Nyhavn. Dinner is on your own it can be recomended.
A glass of wine or a beer in the Famous Hviid's Vinstue or
Skinbuksen right around the corner, is worth a stop. Although
be aware, that in Danish pubs and bars the smoke can get thick.

Day 3 Sunday
After Breakfast why not walk to the train station and take a train
to Hilleroed, and see the Frederiksborg Castle. You can walk
from the station at Hilleroed. In the castle there is an active Castle
Chapel, where there will be a prostestant service Sunday morning.
After the castle tour you may wish to continue by train to
Helsingoer (Elsinore), and walk to the famous castle "Hamlets
Castle" which by its real name is called Kronborg Castle, made
famous by Shakespeares Play "Hamlet". There is a lot to see there
amongst other Europes largest Knights Hall. Both Frederiksborg
and Kronborg Castles were built by the late King Christian IV.
While at Helsingoer, you may wish to hop on one of the many
Ferries operating between Denmark and Sweden. A 20 minute ride
will take you to Helsingborg, on the other side of the Sound.
From Helsingoer you can also take the train back to Copenhagen
and possible stop by the Louisianna - Museum of Modern Art
located just south of Helsingoer.

Day 4 Monday
After breakfast, you may wish to take a tour over to Roskilde,
again you can take a train. It is about a 30 minute ride. There you
will be able to visit he Viking Ship Museum or visit the more than
800 year old Cathedral, which is the burial place of most of the
Royalty of Denmark.
You may also chose to go shopping or sightseeing in the Danish
Capital. There are lots of excellent shops The Royal Copenhagen
shop, Illums department store and much much more.
Early afternoon you should prepare to leave the hotel for the pier,
where you will board the DFDS Seaways ship late afternoon, for
an early evening departure for Oslo. You will spend 2 nights on
board ship. There are a good variety of choices for dining on
board. You can go cafeteria style or dine in one of the restaurants.

Day 5 Tuesday
Before breakfast or during, you will witness a beautiful sailing into
the Oslo Fjord, weather permitting. You will dock approximately
8:00am. After clearing the formalities you may wish to take a 3
hour city, on you own , based on seat in coach guided tour, of
Oslo, or do some of the local sights on your own. Frogner Park,
Holmenkolen Ski Jump Museum, Thor Heyerdahl's "Ra" Museum,
and much more.
Early afternoon be prepared to reboard the ship and depart Oslo
at 5:00pm. Enjoy a smooth sailing out the Oslo Fjord, a quiet
farewell dinner on board ship.

Day 6 Wednesday
After an early beakfast, be prepared to disembark as quickly as
possible. Your ship docks at 09:00am and you walk through the
formalities and take a taxi (on your own) to the airport for your
departure for home. The Formalities at the dock are very simple
you will most likely walk right through without being stopped.
There are no forms to fill out and no passport control to be worried
about. Your SAS flight departs at 10:40am and you
should check-in 1 hour prior. If you get to the airport by 9:40am you may have just enough time to do some last minute duty free
shopping, Copenhagen Airport shopping center being one of the
best in Europe. If you run late getting off the ship you may be in
a hurry, but you should still have time if you take a taxi. Rush hour
is over at that time and the airport is a 20 minute ride.

The program offers you Air transportation, three star hotel, cruise
ticket - inside cabin accommodations, based on two persons
sharing a twin, breakfast daily.

Options:
3 day 2 night to Bergen, taking train from Oslo to Flom, then a
fjord express ferry to Gudvang, then a bus to Voss and a train
into Bergen. Spend 2 nights at the Comfort Holberg Hotel
with breakfast. $280.00 and single supplement $95.00

Other options can be arranged, extended stay in Scandinavia, trips
to Stockholm with a 2 night cruise on Viking Line to Finland.
