12 days 11 nights India Darjeeling Sikkim and Bhutan

 

Day 01, 

Arrive Delhi. Met upon arrival at the airport in Delhi and transfer
to the hotel Taj Mahal  for the overnight stay.

Day 02,

Delhi - Bagdogra - Darjeeling: IC 879 ETD 1005 / ETA 1200 hrs
In the morning transfer to airport to board flight for Bagdogra.
Met upon arrival and tranfer to hotel Windamere, Darjeeling.
Overnight at hotel Windamere

Day 03, 

Darjeeling: AM visit Tiger hill which is at 2590 mts and it is famous
for its magnificient dawn views over Kanchenjunga and over eastern
Himalayan peaks & later visit Ghoom Monastery. In the afternoon visit
Darjeeling city. Overnight at hotel Windamere.

Day 04, 

Darjeeling-Kurseong-Darjeeling: Am drive to Kurseong and return back
to Darjeeling by the toy train. Overnight at Hotel Windamere.

Day 05, 

Darjeeling - Gangtok: Morning drive to Gangtok, capital of Sikkim.
Overnight at hotel Netuk House.

Day 06, 

Gangtok: AM city tour of Gangtok including visit to Tashi Viewpoint
and Enchey Monastery and later in the afternoon excursion to Rumtek
Monastery, situated 24 Kms away, the seat of Gyalwa Karmapa, the head
of the Kagyu-pa order of Tibetan Bhuddhism.
Overnight at hotel Netuk House.

Day 07,

Cross the frontier from Gantok - Sikkim to Bhutan
Gangtok-Phuntsholing: In the morning drive to Phuntsholing and upon
arrival met by Chhundu travel's escort and will help with immigration
formalities and later check-in at hotel Druk. Dinner and overnight
at hotel Druk.  

Day 08, 

Phuntsholing-Thimphu: (SURFACE: 176 KMS / 06 HRS)
After an early Breakfast drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan,
which lies at an elevation of 7,500 feet transversed by the
Thimphu-Chhn river. The road winds North, over the Southern foothills
through lush forested valleys and around the rugged north-south
ridges of the inner Himalayas. Check-in at hotel Druk - Lunch
After Lunch visit national Library which hosts a vast collection on
ancient bhuddist manuscripts - the school of Thangkha painting and
the traditional Medicine Institute.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 09

Thimphu-Punakha: (SURFACE: 77 KMS / 03 HRS 30 MIN)
After an early breakfast , drive to the old capital city of the
Kingdom, Punkaha. until 1955, Punkaha served as the Capital of Bhutan
and even today, it is the Winter seat of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot).
Drive from Thimphu to Punkaha crosses the 10,200 feet Dochula Pass,
from where all the major snowcap peaks of Bhutan present breathtaking
enchanting Views.  Enroute visit the Punkaha Dzong and Punkaha High School.
Check-in at hotel Zangto - Lunch
After Lunch proceed to the windy valley of Wangdiphodrang-visit the
Wangdi Choling dzong (from outside) situated at the confluence of
Mo-Chhu and Tang-Chhu river-a short halt at the local market.
Return to Punakha - Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 10

Punakha-Paro (Via Thimphu):(SURFACE: 142 KMS / 05 HRS)
Early breakfast - drive to Paro - lunch at Thimphu - sightseeing of
Timphu (Visit the memorial Chorten of His Majesty, King Jigme Dorje
Wangchuk - Tashichho Dzong, The national assembly)- A visit to the
handicrafts Emporium to see the exquisite artistry and traditional
crafts and textiles. 
Proceed to Paro- Enroute visit the Simtokha Dzong, the oldest
fortress of its kind and now a religious university.
Check-in at hotel Druk -dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

Day 11

Paro. After breakfast the day begins with a visit to drukgyel Dzong and on
a clear day the 24,000 ft white-domed peak of sacred Chomolhari (Mt.
of Goddess) looms overhead. Visit the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's
Nest) - a trek will take 02 hrs one way or can travel on horse back.
If time permits the visit the National Museum housed in an ancient
watch tower which has a fine collection of Thangkha paintings,
textiles, weapons and artefacts - Short walk to the Paro Rimpung
dzong. Dinner and overnight at hotel Druk.

Day 12

Paro-Delhi:
After an early breakfast transfer to the airport to board Druk Air Corp. flight
KB107 for Delhi.

Tour cost land only $2975.00 per person plus airfares and visa fees.  Minimum 2 persons.
Fully escorted with private car/driver/guide.

Persons wishing to utilize frequent flyer miles may do so.  We offer consolidator airfares
to India.
