19 Day Itinerary Kenya
& Tanzania

19 Day East Africa - Kenya and
Tanzania Safari
visiting Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro,
Amboseli,
The Ark at Aberdare, Samburu and Governors Camp
at Masai Mara.
Day 1
Thursday.
Departure from USA home city via Chicago, New York or
Miami to Europe or South Africa, making a same day
connection to Nairobi.
Day 2 Friday.
After arrival in Europe or at Johannesburg await your
connecting flight and continue the trip to Kenya. If
traveling via SAS and arriving at Copenhagen in the
morning, there is one day layover at Copenhagen . You
will transfer to your hotel the Dan Hotel, just outside
the airport (or similar category). You may choose to take
a 3 hour city sightseeing tour; however, the tour is on
your own and operating based on the minimum number of 10
guests. It is recommeded to take a trip into the city
center, only a 20 minute cab ride from the hotel, or you
can take an airport bus to the main railway station, or a
local bus right outside your hotel. A stroll down the
famous walking street "Stroeget" is
recommended. You can find many small bars and restaurants
at Nyhavn, (the waterfront of the old part of the city),
and the Little Mermaid is not too far off, if you care to
walk from Nyhavn. You may also chose to take a train ride
to Rungsted, to visit the home of Danish born author
Karen Blixen, made famous for her life work in Karen,
just outside Nairobi. her home in Denmark is now a museum
called Rungstedlund. You will see her farm and school
house in Nairobi. You can re-check-in for your continued
flight from Copenhagen to Nairobi, departing early
evening. In teh event you travel via South Africa or
Amsterdam your connecting schedule will differ slightly
Day 3 Saturday.
After breakfast on board KLM or Kenya AirwaysSAS you will
arrive into Nairobi and be met by our guide who will
transfer you to The Norfolk Hotel. The day will be on
your own to relax and catch up on some needed rest.
Dinner is on your own.
Day 4 Sunday
After breakfast you will be picked up for a tour to Karen
- see the Karen Blixen farm and museum.
You will also visit The Giraffe Manor and take a city
tour of Nairobi. Lunch and dinner is on your own.
Overnight at The Norfolk Hotel. (B)
Day 5 Monday.
After Breakfast you will drive towards the border between
Kenya and Tanzania at Taveta. You will continue to Arusha
where you will stop for lunch before continuing to the
fascinating site of Lake Manyara where you will stay at
The Serena Lodge for one night. You will do game viewing
en route. This area is famous for its hippo population
and its spectacular bird life. The Manyara Lake National
Park. Towards the east the park falls down to the lake
shore. Towards the northwest the park borders The Great
Rift Valley.
You will stop at a fantastic view point. The afternoon
game drive will be in search of resting animals. You will
have dinner and overnight at Manyara Serena Lodge.
Day 6 Tuesday.
After Breakfast the safari continues to the great
Savannah, The Serengeti. On the way you will stop at the
Olduvai Gorge, an area known to be a site of the
pre-historic man. The Serengeti can best be described in
numbers. It is an established fact that there are more
than one million animals in the area and a third of them
are wildebeest. This is a tremendous resource of food for
lions, cheetah and leopard which normally are hard to
find in many other parks. Overnight stay at the Sopa
Lodge for two nights. En route see the fabulous growth of
umbrella acacia trees, perhaps catch a glimt of the
tree-climbing lions. (B/L/D).
Day 7 Wednesday.
After breakfast continue game viewing in the great
Serengeti. Within 5700 square miles of open plains you
should again see enormous herds of wildebeest, zebra, and
gazelle grazing together with a compliments lions,
cheetah and leopards along with many other animals and
birds. Overnight again at The Sopa Lodge.
Day 8 Thursday.
After breakfast start your drive to Ngorongoro. The
Crater covers an area of 6475 square kilometers. Every
form for animal life is practically present here. You
will arrive at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge late afternoon,
when you can relax and enjoy the beautiful sights and
nature before you. This Crater is the most , The Crater
is home for one of the biggest concentrations of wild
life, i.e. elephants, lions, buffalo, rhino, leopard and
chimpanzee, not to forget zebra, gazelle,
wildebeest and antelope. You will saty at Ngorongoro Sopa
Lodge. (B/L/D).
Day 9 Friday
After breakfast at sunrise, you will drive down 2400
meters to the bottom of the crater, one of the worlds
largest. You will get a good impression of its grandeur
and its proportions. You will
attempt to get close to the waking animals. This is the
time of day they are easiest to locate. Midmorning you
return to the lodge for a leisurely lunch. late afternoon
you go down again into the crater for more game viewing.
Dinner will be served at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge where
you again will spend the night. (B/L/D).
Day 10 Saturday
After Breakfast the safari continues with a drive back to
Arusha and transfer to Namanga Border. Drive to Amboseli
Serena Lodge for two nights. game viewing en route.
(B/L/D).
Day 11 Sunday
After breakfast you continue the game viewing at
Amboseli. Dinner and overnight will again be at a lodge
in the park.(B/L/D)
Day 12 Monday
After breakfast you will fly back to Nairobi where you
will be met and driven to Aberdare for an overnight at
the Ark for one night. You will enjoy a Salient game
drive en route. Please note: night game drives can only
be done when staying at the Aberdare Country Club.

Day 13 Tuesday
After breakfast you will continue to Samburu where you
will saty at The Samburu Serena Lodge. A palm fringed
oasis, teh Samburu River wanders through the plains
creating hippo pools, sand bars for crocodiles, and a
lazy bathtub for elephants. (B/L/D)
Day 14 Wednesday.
After breakfast you will again enjoy
Samburu also known for its grevy zebra, long-horned oryx,
reticulated giraffes, long necked gerenuk and rare
blue-shanked ostrich. You will again stay at the Serena
Lodge. (B/L/D)
Day 15 Thursday.
After breakfast drive to Nanyuki for a morning flight to
Masai Mara Governors Camp, for three nights stay. Here
alcoholic beverages, except champagne, is included.

Day 16 Friday.
After breakfast enjoy the Masai Mara gave viewing and
overnight at Governors Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 17 Saturday.
After breakfast continue the game viewing at Governors
Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 18 Sunday.
After breakfast take a morning flight back to Nairobi and
trnasfer to the airport for your departure flight. In
case yopu choose a carrier departing late at night we
will adjust your program accordingly. You will depart
either for Johannesburg, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or
London.(B)
Day 19 Monday.
You will continue your trip back home. If using SAS your
flight departs at 10:30am from Copenhagen and you should
have just enough time to do some last minute duty free
shopping, Copenhagen Airport shopping center being one of
the best in Europe. You will arrive home the same
afternoon.
Tour cost: $5600.00 per person (approximate
due to the air carrier cost varies)
Tour includes air transportation, all transfers and tours
according to the itinerary, full board on safari, based
on two persons sharing a twin bedded room. flying doctor
service, exclusive use of a minibus. Four wheel drive can
also be arranged in Tanzania at no additional cost.
English speaking guide/driver.
Additional options can be arranged separately in Mombasa
The Seychelles, Zanzibar, Lamu Island and more, prior to
departure.
