Proposed Program
6 days 5 nights Bhutan
Arrival from Delhi via Darjeeling and Sikkim.
Day 01,
Cross the frontier from Gantok - Sikkim to Bhutan
Gangtok-Phuntsholing: In the morning drive to Phuntsholing and upon
arrival met by Chhundu travel's escort and will help with immigration
formalities and later check-in at hotel Druk. Dinner and overnight
at hotel Druk.

Day 02,
Phuntsholing-Thimpu: (SURFACE: 176 KMS / 06 HRS)
After an early Breakfast drive to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan,
which lies at an elevation of 7,500 feet transversed by the
Thimphu-Chhn river. The road winds North, over the Southern foothills
through lush forested valleys and around the rugged north-south
ridges of the inner Himalayas. Check-in at hotel Druk - Lunch
After Lunch visit national Library which hosts a vast collection on
ancient bhuddist manuscripts - the school of Thangkha painting and
the traditional Medicine Institute.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 03
Thimpu-Punakha: (SURFACE: 77 KMS / 03 HRS 30 MIN)
After an early breakfast , drive to the old capital city of the
Kingdom, Punkaha. until 1955, Punkaha served as the Capital of Bhutan
and even today, it is the Winter seat of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot).
Drive from Thimphu to Punkaha crosses the 10,200 feet Dochula Pass,
from where all the major snowcap peaks of Bhutan present breathtaking
enchanting Views. Enroute visit the Punkaha Dzong and Punkaha High School.
Check-in at hotel Zangto - Lunch
After Lunch proceed to the windy valley of Wangdiphodrang-visit the
Wangdi Choling dzong (from outside) situated at the confluence of
Mo-Chhu and Tang-Chhu river-a short halt at the local market.
Return to Punakha - Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 04
Punakha-Paro (Via Thimphu):(SURFACE: 142 KMS / 05 HRS)
Early breakfast - drive to Paro - lunch at Thimphu - sightseeing of
Timphu (Visit the memorial Chorten of His Majesty, King Jigme Dorje
Wangchuk - Tashichho Dzong, The national assembly)- A visit to the
handicrafts Emporium to see the exquisite artistry and traditional
crafts and textiles.
Proceed to Paro- Enroute visit the Simtokha Dzong, the oldest
fortress of its kind and now a religious university.
Check-in at hotel Druk -dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 05
Paro. After breakfast the day begins with a visit to drukgyel Dzong and on
a clear day the 24,000 ft white-domed peak of sacred Chomolhari (Mt.
of Goddess) looms overhead. Visit the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's
Nest) - a trek will take 02 hrs one way or can travel on horse back.
If time permits the visit the National Museum housed in an ancient
watch tower which has a fine collection of Thangkha paintings,
textiles, weapons and artefacts - Short walk to the Paro Rimpung
dzong. Dinner and overnight at hotel Druk.
Day 06
Paro-Delhi:
After an early breakfast transfer to the airport to board Druk Air Corp. flight
KB107 for Delhi.

8 Day Program
DAY 1, April 29th: PARO
Arrival Paro on Druk Air flight #108 at 10:15AM. Upon arrival you will need to provide
2 photos at airport. A copy of Bhutan visa has been included in documents. Transfer to
hotel. After refreshment, visit Drugyel Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang & evening stroll in the
bazaar. Dinner is at your hotel.

DAY 2, April 30th: PARO
Hike to the viewpoint of Taktsang Monastery. Lunch at Taktsang Cafeteria. Evening walk
back to hotel. Dinner at your hotel.
DAY 3, May 1st: PARO/BONDEY/CHELELA PASS/THIMPHU
Today youll hike from Bobdey Farm near Bondey office to Dzongdrakha Temple for
approximately 1 ½ hours. Continue by to Chelela Pass, where you will enjoy a wonderful
view of the whole valley. Lunch at Hotel. After lunch, hike to Drangzhegoem, a little
monastery just above the hotel. Approx. an hours gradual climb [passing through village
houses and apple gardens. Return the same way back. Evening drive to Thimphu. 2hrs. Dinner
at your hotel.

DAY 4, May 2nd: THIMPHU
Early morning visit to the open weekend market. Then hike to Phajoding, 2800mt, with
several little monasteries spread out. Enjoy a wonderful view of the capital valley.
Youll have a picnic lunch at Phajoding. Dinner at your hotel.
DAY 5, May 3rd: THIMPHU
Today youll visit the outer premise of Tashichodzong, Zilukha Nunnery, Painting
School, National Library,Memorial Chorten & Handicrafts. Lunch at your hotel. This
evening drive to Punakha. Dinner at your hotel.

DAY 6, May 4th: PUNAKHA
Today drive to Sirigang [alt.1600m], passing by the Punakha Dzong and following the
Mochu, for about a two hour drive. From Sirigang, start hike to Chorten Nibu alt.1800m],
the climb is steep and will take about 2hrs. Picnic lunch at Chorten Nibu. After lunch,
continue climb to Kabji Hoko Tso [alt.2000m], gradual climb taking about 3.1/2hours
through dense forest and village houses. *Chorten Nibu, literally translates the Old
temple, which was built around the 14th century by the brother of Lam Drup Kinlay. There
is an old oak tree that has much significance with an interesting story. Dinner at your
hotel.
DAY 7, May 5th: PUNAKHA
Visit the outer premise of the Punakha Dzong. Return to Paro. Picnic lunch at Dochula
Pass, on a clear day, view the Himalayan ranges. Dinner at your hotel.

DAY 8, May 6th: DEPART PARO
Transfer to the airport for Druk Air flight #107 departing at 7:30AM.
